She was fading—or was he? She couldn’t tell—everything was growing blurry, she couldn’t focus. Somewhere, she could hear Hiccup desperately begging her to stay with him, his hand gripping to her hair as if trying to keep her with him.
“Merida! Meri, stay with me! Meri, don’t you dare close your eyes, Merida dunBroch—”
She released another gasp of air and her eyes opened to a bright light. The girl blinked several times, turning her head to examine the white vast around her.
It was quiet—until a soft, but powerful voice came up from behind her.
“You must be Merida—you’ve put my son into quite the stir…”
“Merida! Meri, stay with me! Meri, don’t you dare close your eyes, Merida dunBroch—”

Vision Originality Technique ImpactI believe that this is one of the most tragic short stories I've ever read, not to mention the artwork fits the description perfectly!!! I really love Merida's hair in the picture, and Hiccup does look very, very sad to loose her. I have so much to say about this picture, and really think you have a future in storytelling as well as you do art!!! I'm trying to be fair here, so my critique is that I wish there could be less pencil and more color instead. I would love to see this picture in color; a lot of times it really creates an effect that a lot of people really love.
